Manufacturing

U.S.-based manufacturing and controlled production processes.

Start a Custom Design

Solar panels are manufactured to defined electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements. Production processes are documented, validated, and controlled from initial builds through volume deployment.

Domestic Production

Thin-film panels are made in the USA. Crystalline panels are assembled in the USA. Production and engineering operate under shared, documented controls from prototype through volume release.

  • Thin-film deposition control: Electrical performance defined at material level.

  • Controlled lamination systems: Encapsulation thickness and adhesion verified.

  • Crystalline assembly lines: Repeatable panel construction and finishing.

  • In-line electrical validation: Output confirmed during production.

Manufacturing is integrated with engineering, not outsourced.

Scalable Production

Production begins with validated pilot builds. Process parameters, yield performance, and inspection criteria are confirmed prior to volume expansion. Scale follows validated electrical and mechanical integration.

  • Prototype builds: Single-unit validation of electrical and mechanical integration.

  • Pilot production: Small-batch confirmation of repeatability and yield.

  • Controlled volume expansion: Output increases after process stability is verified.

  • Process change management: Production adjustments documented before scale.

Manufacturing volume aligns with program requirements.

Quality & Traceability

Production follows documented validation procedures aligned with program requirements. Traceability supports OEM documentation and regulated procurement environments.

  • Lot traceability: Component and material tracking by production batch.

  • Electrical verification protocols: Defined voltage and current thresholds.

  • Environmental qualification: Thermal, moisture, and vibration validation.

  • Controlled documentation: Build records maintained from pilot to release.

Each production release is documented and validated.

System Integration

Solar panels and integration electronics are validated as complete systems prior to deployment. Manufacturing confirms electrical compatibility, mechanical alignment, and production continuity.

  • Architecture validation before scale: Electrical configuration confirmed pre-release.

  • Integrated system testing: Solar and storage verified together.

  • Mechanical interface control: Mounting and bonding validated during production.

  • Lifecycle continuity: Production supports long-term program stability.

System validation precedes full deployment.

Manufactured with Precision

Renew has been incorporating PowerFilm solar panels into our systems for a number of years now, and their panels have consistently been among the best for in-house testing of the equipment that we send to jungles, mountains, deserts, and other remote regions of the world. As supervisor of the QC here at Renew, I've been thoroughly impressed with their quality. Thank you, PowerFilm, for your commitment to making quality solar products!

In my years of voyaging around the planet under sail, I've had the opportunity to work with countless vendors for assistance with the repair and maintenance (and sometimes replacement) of the dozens of onboard systems. Every product fails eventually...usually in the Third World. My experience with the customer service team at PowerFilm has certainly won my continuing faith in their products and their product support. They processed my inquiry quickly and efficiently and expedited shipment of the product to my overseas location with no issues. I would not hesitate to do business with PowerFilm in the future.
